Landscape Photography Meetup - Abington park - 12:00 PM - 2 hours
Hey Everyone,
This week's meetup will be on
Landscape Photography. There are so many beautiful places in Northampton. One of them I chose for the first meetup this year is Abington Park.
So for this meetup, we gonna explore and photograph a bit of nature, wildlife, water, grass, birds, etc. You gonna learn about composition in landscape/nature photography, certain camera settings for different landscapes, focal points.
At Abington Park will be plenty of various landscapes there I think everyone will find it interesting to photograph.
As well in Abington Park Boating Lake, you could find various birds to add to your landscapes.
Meeting Point: We will be at Abington park near Dove Tower - Shelter, Briton Road, Northampton NN3 3HN.
As well I will clip a snippet of Google Maps to highlight the area of the meeting.

I can't wait to see everyone. I think this meetup will be a lot of fun and get ready to get creative.

Brush up on your camera skills and learn new photography techniques whilst on a photo walk class with other local keen photographers!

We run two hour photography sessions based on a photography theme/technique/style and they take place in various locations around Northampton.

New to photography? We also run a popular 3 hour Beginners Guide to Photography Class once a month. And once in a while we will run special niche 3 hour classes, for example, Astrophotography - so do subscribe to our newsletter to know when the next on is!

Who can attend? Open to all skill levels, from beginners to keen amateurs. The photography instructor is there to help you with camera settings and provide any advice you need.

What to bring? We recommend bringing a camera that has full manual mode or semi-manual modes (Aperture or Shutter Priority). Compact cameras and smartphones also welcome!

The meeting point and full details for the day are sent in the booking confirmation email to the email address you provide at time of booking.

Join the Northampton Photography Facebook Group here to share your photos after the session.

Our classes and photography sessions are limited to a max of 5 students - due to current COVID restrictions

We ask that everyone attending a meetup follows social distancing guidelines:

Landscape Photography Meetup - Sywell country park Washbrook Ln, Ecton, Northampton NN6 0QX - 11am - 2 hours
Settings: maximise the depth of field / use a narrow aperture. May need to take shutter speed down and ISO up a little.
Finding a spot that has a foreground and background interest. Think carefully about where you place your camera and tripod.
Take your time. Thereís no need to take hundreds of shots at this session, itís all about taking the time to see and record the landscape around you.
What is the sky doing? If itís bland and no contrast, then donít let it dominate your frame. It is always good to have a slice of sky so that it can help Ďbreak upí the composition in a good way - think rule of thirds.
Keep an eye on the horizon! Keep them level and watch where you are placing them in the frame - on one of the thirds is best.

Photography Class for Beginners - Abington park - 12:30 PM - 3h
Hey Everyone,
This week's Photography Class for Beginners. This class is designed to give you a solid understanding of the fundamental basics of photography; the Ďbits and bobsí stuff that will set you on the path to understanding your camera and how to create great shots. Armed with these fundamentals, you will have the skills and the confidence to approach any style of photography, from portraits to landscapes and everything in between.
*During this class, we will cover such topics as the 'Holly' Exposure Triangle, Camera Aperture, Shutter Speed, ISO, and Composition.

Taking great photos takes time, practice, patience, and consideration. In the beginning stages,
it is very easy to become frustrated that your images donít capture your subject as you would
like to. This is perfectly normal and even professional photographers face this same challenge. Be patient with it, youíre learning and with practice, your photography will improve with every shot.

I have chosen Abington Park as the location for this class. We are going to explore and photograph a bit of everything in the park and at the same time, you will learn how to use the right settings on your camera as well as composition.
