Come along to our photo sessions to dust off your camera and get snap-happy with a professional photography instructor.

Brush up on your camera skills and learn new photography techniques whilst on a photo walk class with other local keen photographers!

We run two hour photography sessions based on a photography theme/technique/style and they take place in various locations around Northampton.

New to photography? We also run a popular 3 hour Beginners Guide to Photography Class once a month. And once in a while we will run special niche 3 hour classes, for example, Astrophotography - so do subscribe to our newsletter to know when the next on is!

Who can attend? Open to all skill levels, from beginners to keen amateurs. The photography instructor is there to help you with camera settings and provide any advice you need.

What to bring? We recommend bringing a camera that has full manual mode or semi-manual modes (Aperture or Shutter Priority). Compact cameras and smartphones also welcome!

The meeting point and full details for the day are sent in the booking confirmation email to the email address you provide at time of booking.

Join the Northampton Photography Facebook Group here to share your photos after the session.

Our classes and photography sessions are limited to a max of 5 students - due to current COVID restrictions

We ask that everyone attending a meetup follows social distancing guidelines:

Stay home if you're sick.
Keep 2 metres away from others.
Don't make unnecessary physical contact with others. Avoid physical greetings, such as handshakes, hugs and kisses.
Wash your hands regularly with alcohol-based sanitiser.

I have really enjoyed the session with Ionut and the other photography enthusiasts on Saturday. Ionut is a professional who gave us tips and could answer all the questions and had enough patience with us, also he was more then happy to assist. I would recommend to others and I would attend again in the future.

INSTRUCTORS
Ionut Ignat
Ionut Ignat (John) started to walk the path to photography in 2002 and he has been constantly learning since. Photography is more than a hobby and it feels like it is a part of him. He has approached various types of photography both from a personal and a commercial perspective. If the commercial part has its rules, the personal part sums up his feelings, moods and the way he sees the world. He is split among his photographs and if one would want to know him, the only thing to do would be to bring all his photos together; one might call it "Reconstruction". His home city is Iasi, Romania and it has been until January 2020. While living in Iasi, he has been a part of one of the local photography groups for several years and he has participated in several group photography exhibitions. He also had one personal exhibition and he won 3rd place in a national Street Photography contest. He is currently using Olympus equipment, but he is familiar with Pentax (film), Nikon (D70s, D200, D300, D300s, D700, D800), Fujifilm (X100), Canon (40D – he still owns it, 5d Mk3, 6D, 1DX), Panasonic (S1, S1R) and Olympus (M5, M5 Mk2, Pen-F, M1, M1 Mk2, M1X) and with lots of lenses. He is not a fan of a specific brand and even if he has his preferences, he considers that the best equipment is the one that helps him do what he wants to do. He used studio equipment several times, both in a studio and on location. The on-location sessions he's done were very interesting and challenging, because he had to photograph office chairs for a 360° presentation using a turntable. Before coming to the UK, he used to run one-on-one photography courses. A part of his work as a photographer can be seen on his website - https://www.onevision-photo.com/
